Another section of the walls of the ancient city of Troy. A large area of the walls have been left underground beneath what can be seen here. They are underground because Turkey is an earthquake zone and in a quake the walls could fall.
Looking from Troy to the plains that surround it. Two thousand years ago this was open water but it has silted up which led to the city's decline. The plain is a result of that silting.
